Arabische Umweltaktivisten nutzten den 3. Weltnaturschutz-Kongress der World Conservation Union (IUCN) in Bangkok, um die internationale Aufmerksamkeit auf die problematische Situation vieler palästinensischer Bauern zu lenken. Sie warfen Israel vor, durch seine Siedlungspolitik und den Bau der Grenzmauer Jahrhunderte alte Olivenhaine auf palästinensischem Gebiet und damit die Existenzgrundlage vieler Bauern zu vernichten. “Bäume sind die Lebensgrundlage der Menschen. Stoppt das Entwurzeln der palästinensischen Bäume”, konnten die Kongressteilnehmer auf einem Plakat lesen. Die Arabische Gruppe für Naturschutz bittet um internationale Hilfe für ein Projekt, das die Anpflanzung von einer Million neuer Bäume, vor allem von Olivenbäumen, vorsieht. Sie sollen dort wachsen, wo israelische Bulldozer die alten Haine niedergemacht hatten.

Concerned members of the advertising and media community in Jordan have produced a media campaign: Palestine: Dying to live to mobilize public opinion, to open the world’s eyes to the various violations of basic human rights, in an effort to bring forth the plight of the Palestinians to the Western world, in a language they understand.

Last night we were watching “Rockyâ€, apart of the movie being an extremely exciting one till this very day, it always reminds me of my opinion concerning “sports†such as Boxing.
I never really considered Boxing to be a sport. Just like I never was convinced of the idea of Formula 1, wrestling, motor bike/ cart racing, to be kinds of sports.
To me a sport is an extremely healthy and environment-friendly activity. And I can’t see anything healthy in breaking someone’s teeth, or smashing their skulls, or lifting them up in your arms just to throw them on the ground as strong as you can!
I see nothing environment-friendly in pumping out toxic gas and crashing a speeding car causing fatal injuries!
I really don’t know, they might be fun to watch, but when it comes to me, I’ll never ever consider any of them sports.
Israel is filing a complaint against… Jordan pigeons!
Yep, as crazy as it may sound, this is nothing but the truth. Pigeons gather in Aqaba, enjoy their time in the beautiful city by eating and eating. And then they fly to Eilat where they happen to find it the perfect place to get rid of their… shit, leaving the Israelis angry of the dirt covering their coasts.
What can I say? It’s the animal, the animal, the animal instinct 😉 Oh, no, let’s get serious, maybe these pigeons aren’t as innocent and spontaneous as they seem, what if they belong to some kind of a terrorist organization?!
